The Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the construction company SIA Arčers and the Coin Design Committee of Latvijas Banka have selected the design of a euro collector coin honouring Latvian national entrepreneurship. This coin will mark Latvia's economic development and growth since the country regained its independence 25 years ago.
From five coin designs submitted under a closed competition procedure, the jury selected the design by Paulis Liepa, the author of the graphic design for the last lats coin "365". The reverse of the coin will feature 25 relief facets representing 25 years of entrepreneurship in Latvia, while the obverse will bear a barcode encoding a message. The issuance of the coin is projected for the second half of 2016.
